How to Volunteer?

Contact the City of Chesapeake Volunteer Coordinator (757) 382-6492 or visit the City of Chesapeake’s job website for adult volunteer opportunities. Click on Search Postings and select Volunteer Program from the Job Title drop down menu.

 

Court-Ordered Community Service

Please Note: We are not accepting court-ordered community service volunteer requests at this time.

Contact the City of Chesapeake Volunteer Coordinator (757) 382-6492 about citywide opportunities for court-mandated needs.

 

Our Volunteer Groups:

Teens (Grades 9-12)

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

The Teen Advisory Group is a library sponsored volunteer organization for community conscious teens, grades 6-12.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Chesapeake Public Library raise funds and sponsor special Library programs.

 

Library Board

The Chesapeake Library Board is an advisory board appointed by City Council to provide input to the City Manager, Library Director, and City Council concerning Library matters. (City Code Sec 2-326)

 

Library Foundation

Please Note: The Chesapeake Public Library Foundation is accepting volunteer requests to work events. You may contact the foundation by using the link below.

The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status that provides funding that complements the City's support for continued operation of the library.

 

Norfolk County Historical Society

The Norfolk County Historical Society is committed to the preservation and dissemination of the history of the City of Chesapeake and surrounding areas.
